Directions to Barnfield College

Barnfield Technology Centre is just off the main A6 Luton – Bedford route, approximately two miles north from Luton town centre, behind Homebase on Enterprise Way.
*Please note* – if approaching northbound on the A6 from the direction of Luton town centre the prominent Barnfield College alongside the A6 is not the Technology Centre. Keep heading in the Bedford direction until the ‘Homebase’ roundabout.

The nearest motorway exit is Junction 11 on the M1. Head towards Luton and take the first left – Stoneygate Road. At the roundabout take the first exit – Oakley Road. At the T-junction turn right – Grange Avenue. Take the second exit at the next roundabout – Bramingham Road. Follow through (across several mini- roundabouts) until the road joins into Icknield Way.
Icknield Way then joins onto the A6 at the ‘Homebase’ roundabout.

Help/Questions: Direct all questions regarding this Test to jonh@vmware.com

Missed Questions:
Question: Which of the following vSphere Components is depicted in the image?
Incorrect response(s):
VMware vShield Zones
Explanation: VMware VMsafe uses a third-party security virtual appliance. VMware vShield Zones is an appliance aware firewall technology that uses VMware supplied appliances for it’s management and security components.
Question: Which vSphere feature is depicted in the image?
Incorrect response(s):
VMware Site Recovery Manager
Explanation: VMware Site Recovery Manager is an add-on product that allows virtual machines at a production site to be protected by a recovery site. vCenter Data Recovery is a backup solution integrated with vCenter Server.
Question: Which of the following has no effect on the amount of physical memory resources used for virtualization overhead (Choose Two)?
Incorrect response(s):
Increasing the number of virtual CPUs in the virtual machine.
Explanation: Increasing the number of virtual CPUs in the virtual machine will increase the overhead for the virtual machine. Adjusting memory share values affects priority access to resources when contention exists, but does not increase or decrease a virtual machine’s overhead. Operating System architecture affected memory overhead in earlier generations of ESX, but does not impact overhead in vSphere 4.x
Increasing the memory shares for the virtual machine.
Note: This response is either incorrect, or additional responses may be required to receive a 100% score for this question.
Question: You are running into disk contention problems on a VMFS datastore. Which two actions should you take to solve this problem (Choose Two)?
Incorrect response(s):
Adjust disk shares for each ESX Server accessing this datastore.
Explanation: Disk shares are set at the virtual machine level and can be used to prioritize access to the datastore. However, if contention is severe enough some virtual machines may need to be moved to an alternate datastore.
Move some of the virtual machines from this VMFS datastore to another datastore on a different LUN.
Note: This response is either incorrect, or additional responses may be required to receive a 100% score for this question.
Question: When the guest OS of a virtual machine requires all of the VM’s memory, which of the following formulas defines the amount of memory that will always be composed of disk pages?
Incorrect response(s):
Memory allocated – memory available
Explanation: A virtual machine will always be granted physical memory if available, up to the memory limit. If a limit is in place, any memory over the limit will always be composed of disk pages.
Question: What two things are controlled by the DRS automation level (Choose Two)?
Incorrect response(s):
VM isolation response
Explanation: Isolation response is a setting for VMware HA that controls how virtual machines are treated when an ESX Host becomes isolated from the network. DRS automation controls where a virtual machine is placed within the cluster and balances virtual machine workloads using VMotion migration.
VM restart priority
Explanation: VM restart priority is a VMware HA setting that determines the order in which virtual machines will be restarted if an ESX Host fails. DRS automation controls where a virtual machine is placed within the cluster and balances virtual machine workloads using VMotion migration.
Note: This response is either incorrect, or additional responses may be required to receive a 100% score for this question.
Question: An existing VMware VI3 infrastructure will be upgraded to vSphere. The infrastrucure contains 250 ESX and ESXi Hosts in multiple HA/DRS clusters. Which of the following tools does VMware recommend using to upgrade the ESX Hosts in this infrastructure to ESX 4.x?
Incorrect response(s):
vSphere Host Update Utility
Explanation: VMware recommends using vCenter Update Manager when upgrading a large infrastructure or an infrastructure with clustered hosts. The vSphere Host Update Utility is typically used to upgrade one host at a time, making it ideal for smaller installations.
Question: At what level can blocking policies be applied on a vNetwork Distributed Switch (Choose Two)?
Incorrect response(s):
Virtual Adapter
Explanation: Port blocking policies can only be applied to a vNetwork Distributed Switch. They can be applied to dvPorts/dvPort Groups and to dvUplinks/ dvUplink Groups
dvPort Group
Note: This response is either incorrect, or additional responses may be required to receive a 100% score for this question.
Question: Which of the following will cause a warning to be reported by vCenter Service Status (Choose Three)?
Incorrect response(s):
Hardware monitoring is not performing correctly
vCenter Server cannot connect to an LDAP source
The vCenter Mount Service is not responding
Explanation: vCenter Service Status reports service errors related to vCenter Server. This includes monitoring LDAP Health, vCenter Server and vCenter Database services, Storage Management services and Query and Feed services, including the CIM feed that is used for hardware monitoring. Some services such as the vCenter Mount Service are not directly monitored by this tool and would need to be investigated in Windows Services .
Note: This response is either incorrect, or additional responses may be required to receive a 100% score for this question.
Question: Which is NOT a supported database for vCenter Server?
Incorrect response(s):
DB2
Question: An administrator finds that the Hardware Status tab is unavailable when an ESX Host is selected in vCenter Server. Which of the following steps could be taken to investigate the issue (Choose Two)?
Incorrect response(s):
Check the status of the CIM Data Feed in vCenter Service Status
Check the status of the CIM Data Feed on the ESX Host
Explanation: Hardware health information for ESX Hosts is provided in vCenter Server using the vCenter Hardware Service. This service does not show up in the Windows Services applet, but the status can be checked in the Plug-in Manager. The service relies on a CIM Data Feed from the ESX Host, the status of which can be checked in vCenter Service Status.
Note: This response is either incorrect, or additional responses may be required to receive a 100% score for this question.
Question: An administrator is installing an ESX Host to boot from a SAN LUN. The storage array is an active/passive array. After configuring the boot LUN and installing ESX, the system does not boot properly. Which of the following could cause this issue?
Incorrect response(s):
The LUN specified in the BIOS configuration of the HBA is passive
Explanation: The term active/passive applies to Storage Processors, not LUNs.
Question: Which of the following describes the default behavior of uplinks added to a vNetwork Standard Switch:
Incorrect response(s):
The first uplink is active, additional uplinks are standby
Explanation: All ports are classified as active when added to the vNetwork Standard Switch. Administrator action is required to change an uplink to the standby or unused state.
Question: An ESX Server is configured to access an iSCSI target using CHAP authentication. What happens to the access if CHAP is disabled on the ESX Host?
Incorrect response(s):
Access is removed on the next rescan
Explanation: CHAP is only checked when connecting the host to the array. As long as the connection is active, access continues. If either endpoint (host or array) ends the connection, the reconnection attempt will fail due if CHAP is disabled.
Question: Which memory conservation technique allows the secure elimination of redundant copies of memory pages between virtual machines on the host?
Incorrect response(s):
Memory Balloon Driver

Swap Space and Guest Operating Systems

If you choose to overcommit memory with ESX Server, you need to be sure your guest operating systems have sufficient swap space. This swap space must be greater than or equal to the difference between the virtual machine’s configured memory size and its Reservation.  To prevent virtual machine failure, increase the size of the swap space in your virtual machines, make sure the amount of memory isn’t larger than the amount of disk space (on the VM).”

Gods Perfection & my perfectionism

Filed under: Uncategorized — kevin @ 3:07 pm

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Matthew 5:4

God is already perfect, we are to be(come) perfect

Greek word here is teleios which means
brought to its end, finished
wanting nothing necessary to completeness
perfect
lots of proverbs about integrity Proverbs 11:3, 20:7

perfect = blameless in psalm 18:32 in NASB

God will perfect things concering me;  Psalms 138:8

Col 2:10 “and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.”

1 Corinthians 13:9-12 KJV
Romans 7:15 (new you & salvation)

Perfection will come at the time of the resurrection:

“If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” (Philippians 3:11-15 KJV)

“Perfection” is a lifelong process after which Christians will be made perfect.

“God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (Hebrew 11:40-12:1 KJV)

Entire devotedness

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Purity and holiness in speech.

James 3:2

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Aim for perfection: Genesis 17:1, Deuteronomy 18:13

Don’t claim perfection:
Job 9:20, Philippians 3:12

Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

James 1:4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
